There is plenty of optimism in the current job market across all sectors as the financial year comes to a close.
This view is supported as new job advertisements in Australia on job board SEEK, increased by 8.5% in April when compared to the same period last year.
The data showed that demand was up in mining, resources and energy by 90% in May, year-on-year. Engineering and trade and services were also up by 31% and 27%, year-on-year, respectively.*
Our achievement in successfully filling roles is a result of having multiple recruitment strategies in place. Using a professional recruiter gives you access to multiple streams of candidates such as:
- Multiple Job Boards: We are seeing applications from many different job boards in the last twelve (12) months with less of a reliance from SEEK which until more recently has been the strongest source of job applications across most vacancies.
- Database with Potential Candidates: We continuously update and manage our database of candidates which is the strongest asset in a recruiting business. Our specialised database is designed to manage, communicate and search for the right candidates with the right skills. At present we have almost 7,000 active candidates open to new roles.
- Social Media Strategies: Social Media has proven to be a valuable tool to source specific candidates for roles. Social Media strategies can source candidates based on geographical locations with specific interests and has the power of networking with posts being shared as appropriate.
Finding staff in the current market is a long way removed from advertising a role in a tabloid newspaper.
