About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Operations Manager to oversee the transport and waste management operations of our business. You will be responsible for ensuring efficiency, compliance with industry regulations, and delivering exceptional service. This role requires strong leadership, logistics expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Management: Oversee transport and waste collection services, optimizing schedules, routes, and logistics for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to all industry regulations, environmental standards, and workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Fleet & Equipment Management: Monitor fleet performance, oversee maintenance schedules, and manage vehicle and equipment procurement as required.
  • People Leadership: Lead, train, and develop our team to maintain a high-performance team.
  • Customer Service & Client Relations: Maintain strong relationships with customers, addressing concerns and ensuring service excellence.
  • Financial Performance & Budgeting: Monitor operational costs, prepare reports, and contribute to financial planning and budgeting.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement operational efficiencies, process improvements, and technology solutions to enhance productivity.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with regulatory bodies, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless operations.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience in an Operations Manager role within transport, logistics, or waste management.
  • Strong understanding of fleet management, route optimization, and logistics.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, safety compliance, and environmental standards.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze operational data, generate reports, and implement strategic improvements.
  • Experience with budget management and cost control.
  • Proficiency in transport/logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work under pressure.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Chain of Responsibility, Heavy Vehicle Accreditation) (desirable).
  • Valid driver’s license, preferably with a heavy vehicle endorsement.
